Matthew Hayes, LGPC
Matthew Hayes is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Washington DC and received his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University. Matthew has extensive training and experience working with diverse clientele including youth, adolescents, and young adults.
Matthew has experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and navigating life transitions. Using cognitive-behavioral and humanistic approaches, Matthew brings an effective way to not only better understand the client’s unique experiences and build a genuine therapeutic relationship, but also to work on cognitively restructuring unhelpful thought patterns and modifying behaviors best suitable to each client. Within the therapeutic space, Matthew centers his approach around working collaboratively with his clients and those involved with the client by taking into consideration the clients’ own values and goals that developed through their unique journey.
Matthew personally strives to present himself as genuine and compassionate when working on cognitive-behavioral and holistic interventions with clients to help them through their journey of self-exploration of their emotional and mental well-being.
